Dolly Parton Calls Out Christians On Hate And Supports The Gay Community

Dolly Parton calls out Christians on spreading hate and judgement against the gay community by naming it “sinful itself”. You tell them like it is, Dolly!

Yes, Dolly Parton fans, this is an article dedicated to the singer-songwriter who is not only known for her country-slammin’ music, but for her philanthropic work and, shall we say, open mind. When she’s not touring the world or surprising us with that fascinating bod (I mean, how could she be 65?), she visits her hometown in Nashville, Tennessee.

In a recent interview with

Billboard

, Dolly opens up to fans on how important her, as Billboard put it, “gay following” are to the country artist.

Billboard asks:

Dollywood (a theme park dedicated to the country singer and ranked as one of the most popular attractions in the U.S.) Attracts lots of church groups, but it has also become a draw for the LGBT community. What does that say about you?”

Parton’s answer:

“It’s a place for entertainment, a place for all families, period… But as far as the Christians, if people want to pass judgment, they’re already sinning.”

Brava!

“The sin of judging is just as bad as any other sin they might say somebody else is committing. I try to love everybody.”

And that’s why they love you, Dolly.

Afterwards, Billboard questions Parton’s attribution in opinion to her massive “gay following”:

“They know that I completely love and accept them, as I do all people. I’ve struggled enough in my life to be appreciated and understood. I’ve had to go against all kinds of people through the years just to be myself. I think everybody should be allowed to be who they are, and to love who they love. I don’t think we should be judgmental. Lord, I’ve got enough problems of my own to pass judgment on somebody else.”
