Dancing With The Stars Recap: Week 2 Elimination | Dancing With The Stars
Media Courtesy of AL.com
One unlucky couple would be the first to go tonight...... So let's get right into the madness!! Last week, "Dancing with The Stars" kicked off its 20th season with a star studded night that saw some shortcomings, but also saw explosive routines. Rumer Willis shocked the world with her moves alongside partner Val, while legendary singer Patti Labelle was moved to tears by the ovation. War veteran Noah Galloway brought us all to tears during his routine with partner Sharna, and Red Foo..... Yikes. Tonight, the contenders would be dancing to routines set to "My Jam", which could tell us a lot about them. No time to waste here, so here we go! 1. Chris Soules & Witney - Cha Cha Chris wanted to bust out his favorite Pitbull song, and during rehearsals it was revealed he was really struggling with the choreography. Unfortunately, it didn't appear that Witney's teachings were really working as Chris seemed to be all over the place. There was a lot of hesitation to some of the moves, although he did appear to hit some of them. (Who am I kidding, maybe he hit more?) The judges were frustrated with his foot work, and called him out on it, while he echoed their statements afterwards. The judges handed them three 5's and a 6 from Len. 2. Suzanne Somers & Tony - Jive Showing off those FABULOUS 68 year old legs, Suzanne really brought her game to her Jive routine, and acting on Julianne's wishes of "raunchier", she really showed of a different side of herself on the dance floor. From the minute the music started, she was alive, and there will never be a day when I get over how INCREDIBLE she looks. She looked like she had fun and yours truly loved every second of it. The judges loved it and this was looking positive for their scores..... Four 7's from the judges!! 3. Robert Herjavec & Kym - Foxtrot Who knew the "Shark Tank" tough guy had such class on the dance floor!? While there were a few missteps, the routine as a whole was very enjoyable and they really seem to have found a connection. Robert's enthusiasm on the dance floor in infectious, and that smile is EVERYTHING. The judges all loved the performance, and gave them another round of 7's! 4. Charlotte McKinney & Keo - Cha Cha Okay, so it was better than last week FOR SURE.... Unfortunately, Charlotte still seems incredibly awkward on the dance floor. The judges enjoyed her performance and all agreed that it was much better than last week. The awarded her and Keo with two 7's and two 6's. 5. Michael Sam & Peta - Foxtrot All of the judges agreed once again (they're really in unison tonight): TRANSFORMATION from last week! The judges commended Michael on his footwork and they were wowed from the improvement. Another score of four 7's! 6. Rumer Willis & Val - Cha Cha Could last weeks leader board high scorers keep the momentum going? HOLY. CRAP. WOW. Words can hardly describe what this performance was. To me? This was FINALE TYPE and it was insanely good from start to finish. Julianne just wanted her to loosen up a bit, and when she does? She'll be unstoppable. Her and Val received the highest score of the night thus far, with four 8's! 7. Red Foo & Emma - Jive Something changed Red Foo since last week!! The LMFAO singer/DJ really brought it this week after last weeks unfortunate debut and yours truly was really impressed. He really looked like he was having fun and the technique was REALLY there. SHOCKED. The judges were raving over his improvement and awarded them a 7 from Len, and three 8's!! So much for bottom of the leader board! 8. Willow Shields & Mark - Argentine Tango This young girl has POTENTIAL. Considering she's so young, having her dance a tango made me very nervous, but girl worked it out. Her lines seemed crisp and she was completely in sync with Mark throughout the entire routine. Magical from start to finish. Carrie Ann was over the moon about the routine and applauded Mark's direction over the dance. Len was 100% right with Willow's maturity, and it really showed. Four 8's from the judges!! 9. Noah Galloway & Sharna - Samba Is he going to make me cry every week!?!? Their country routine was a lot of fun, and I was a tad happy that it was a lighter from last weeks incredibly emotional dance. Julianne mentioned how on point Noah was with the music, and Sharna is doing a great job working with Noah. They even scored three 7's and a 6. Oh, and for those tears? Noah's girlfriend showed up to surprise him!!! The surprise brought Noah to tears and garnered a standing ovation from the crowd. 10. Nastia Liukin & Derek - Rumba This is going to come across as rude, but I really feel Derek was handed a winner this year, and it bothers me. Why does he always get the gymnasts?! OF COURSE the routine was incredible because she can bend like the other ladies can't!!! That's all I'm saying. They received the first 9's of the season (from Carrie Ann and Bruno) and 8's from Len and Julianne. 11. Riker Lynch & Allison - Foxtrot Last week, Riker proved he was a show man with his explosive routine, so would he be able to dial it back for something for traditional? Some of the moves seemed erratic, which is what I kind of expected, but he really honed it in!!! He proved me wrong and I loved it. The judges were on board with the routine as well, and they could go far. They received four 8's from the judges! 12. Patti Labelle & Artem - Salsa ALL HAIL QUEEN PATTI The legendary singer performed to "In Da Club" by 50 Cent and got down with her bad self!!!! Words will not do this performance justice because it was just EVERYTHING and then some. Watching Patti get down with Artem was a SIGHT and I loved it SO MUCH. Four 7's!!! But you guys know what that means? Based on the scores from last week, added to the viewers votes......we needed to find out who was going home even after tonight's performances. Unfortunately, even after tonight's great performance, Red Foo and Emma Slater were sent packing as the FIRST eliminated couple of the season. What did you guys think of tonight's show?
