Sony closed its E3 2014 press conference with a bang on Monday afternoon (June 9) upon the unveiling of the latest installment in its critically-acclaimed series, Uncharted.
While we didn’t get the full-out gameplay trailer that other upcoming AAA hits, such as Far Cry 4 and Assassin’s Creed: Unity, obtained, we did nab ourselves a tantalizing cinematic scene. Nathan Drake finds himself in a rather slippery situation, literally, as he awakens face-first in a pool of water only to find himself on, yes, an uncharted island.
In traditional Uncharted fashion, it’s all very dramatic while introspectively brooding and affecting, as Drake finds himself looking back on a past conversation with Sully that inspires him to get up and check the place out.
What does he find? Skeletons locked up in a hanging cage, late 1700s Caribbean style.
The game is officially titled Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and is reported to be “very real” compared to past games in the series, as it explores the character of Nathan Drake himself when he finds himself back in the world of thieves and scoundrels.
A release date for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is to be announced at a later time.
