During its E3 2014 press conference Tuesday afternoon, Nintendo unveiled one of its biggest bombshells yet.
The Legend of Zelda is coming to the Wii U, and it’s going to be a complete open world experience! This comes as the result of series director, Eiji Aonuma, deciding that the iconic series needed to be brought to a bigger and better place than it had ever gone before.
The earliest games in the series were open world but obviously not very technologically advanced, and given the 3D, high-definition technology of today, Zelda is looking more amazing than ever before in its debut teaser trailer.
You can check out the trailer below at about the 3:00 mark, in which Link, on Epona, faces off against an unknown robotic foe with some brand new arrow types in tow. Before the battle, our Hylian hero and his trusty steed are shown enjoying the view in what is bound to be one of the game’s many vast, open areas; and it couldn’t be any more gorgeous.
