It that wonderful time of the year once again and all our gamer dreams are coming true. Sony's press conference was one of the last ones for the season and they set a high bar for all those who went both before and after them with all their amazing reveals.
The Sony panel started up in the highest possible note it could have, by showing footage of The Last Guardian. No one actually knew if it was finally happening or not, but we were finally treated to the first footage of this much-anticipated games. Watching the gameplay was simply breathtaking and left everyone wanting to play it right then and there.
Following right after was the footage for Horizon: Zero Dawn introducing us to its story and main character. While there are still some missing pieces, the game still looks extremely promising.
Hitman gave viewers the first look at the new game in the franchise. At first glance, it seemed like nothing changed but we got a further look thanks to the Square Enix panel, and saw that you will now be able to pick and choose your targets.
Street Fighter 5 came up next with the announcement of a pre-order beta happening exclusively on the PS4. While there hasn't been any major differences to it's predecessors, it's still one of the most exciting game series that still continues to keep gamers coming back for more.
No Man's Sky left us with more questions than before as we caught a glimpse of it at this conference. The game is very interesting in the sense of being able to explore different planets, with the options being unlimited thanks to the ever-growing universe it's set in. Being able to log in your discoveries is exciting too, making me want to discover as much as I can once I get the chance.
Dreams also left us with questions, but in an amazing way. The trailer and gameplay was just so breathtaking and beautiful. It left me so upset when the trailer was over and Sony moved on, but it got me excited to see what would be announced next in the near future.
Firewatch was kind of a come and go when it came to this conference. Only the trailer was shown and not much else was available on it but, I will say this, the last line of the trailer left me goosebumps and made me want to find out more about it.
Destiny premiered it's new DLC called The Taken King. The release date has also been revealed and set for September 15, 2015. This DLC sure looks very promising and rightfully so, as Destiny is already incredible itself.
The highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Syndicate is already on the must-have list for a lot of gamers but the newly announced PS4 exclusive DLC made it even better. PS4 players will have the chance to download "The Dreadful Crimes" which allows players to play as both Evie and and Jacob as they solve the crimes of the "most famous detective novelist of Victorian England."
Fans cheered for the big Final Fantasy VII remake and the adorable World of Final Fantasy. More details of the remake are available here. World of Final Fantasy revealed little about it's gameplay but still looked incredible as all other Final Fantasy games have in the past.
Shenmue III was next and the crowd went wild for this one. Yu Suzuki came on stage to count down the start of the Kickstarter campaign for the third installment of this legendary game. The goal of $2 million has already been reached in less than 24 hours and continues to gain funding for more extras to be included.
A trailer for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight was shown, the final installment of the high-praised Batman video game series. The trailer featured the "Scarecrow: Nightmare Missions" DLC that is exclusive to PS4.
Soon followed the announcement that PS4 will allow users to subscribe to individual channels of their choosing through PlayStation Vue. Currently, the service allows users to subscribe to tiers, much like cable providers. They also announced that the service will be launching to Los Angeles and San Francisco areas.
Activision also stepped up to further show their new partnership with Sony as they announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will first release it's map packs to PS4 players first. The Black Ops 3 beta will also be available to PS4 players first. This announcement further ends the previous partnership that Activision had with Microsoft.
Sony also partnered up with Disney to give players an exclusive Star Wars bundle. The bundle will contain both Twilight of the Republic (Episodes 1-3) and Rise Against the Empire (Episode 4-6) of the Star Wars series, and allow users to play as Bobba Fett before anyone else. Rise Against the Empire will be available to non-PS4 users one month after launch while Bobba Fett will be available during the holiday season.
Sony continued the Star Wars series by showing new footage of Star Wars Battlefront. It also gave users a deeper look at it's co-op survival mode.
Sony ended the conference on a big high note thanks to a live demo of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The demo made you want to start playing and find out what was next for Sully and Nate as they also made you laugh with their dialogue throughout the scene.
It's no surprise that Sony was able to set a high bar for themselves at this E3. With the amount of exclusives and exciting trailers and demos that they showed at this conference, it got many people excited for the next step on the PS4. With the addition of other titles Kingdom Hearts III and Mirror's Edge 2 also coming soon, it's a good time to be a PS4 owner.
