Ed Sheeran shares a “little bit of infinity” in his newly released contribution to The Fault in Our Stars soundtrack. Aptly titled “All of the Stars,” the song begins with a soft melody as Ed croons “It’s just another night , and I’m staring at the moon , I saw a shooting star , and thought of you.” This is the first song of the movie’s end credits, and by the sound of it , it is specifically designed to squeeze more tears out of your eyes as you struggle to walk out of the cinema , trying to keep your emotions in check.
As an added treat, Ed also premiered the song’s accompanying music video on his YouTube channel. The video is simple but beautifully crafted, with nothing more than shots of a collage of art and encouraging messages plastered on the wall, with a few snippets of the movie thrown in as you hear Ed in the background.
The true genius? Those inspiring quotes on the wall were actually submitted by fans through Instagram. More than 5,000 entries were submitted over three days, and the fans had no idea that their handiwork would end up in the music video! Ed himself only appears in the last few seconds of the video, sitting on a couch, with the work of the fans behind him, as he sings the last line.
Check out the video below, have a sweet cry, and tell us what you think once you have thoroughly soaked your keyboard with tears.
Pack some tissues, because The Fault In Our Stars hits theatres on June the 6th.
