As summer approaches and restrictions are being lifted, people are looking forward to going out and mingling again, Australian born, NYC based rock artist Eden James has the perfect summer song about getting out, meeting someone new and maybe even getting lucky. His punchy, blues-rock single “Stranger” is out now and PopWrapped are delighted to premiere its video.
The video showcases various live NYC performances of “Stranger” by James and his band prior to the pandemic. James gives his audience a good show with his energy and charisma, reminding us of the magic of live performances that we’ve all missed over the past year.
For James, “Stranger” – which offers a taste of what fans can expect from his upcoming LP ‘All The Good Blank Are Taken’, set to drop on July 9th – isn’t just a song about hooking up with an anonymous person, but more about how he tells the story. “The idea for ‘Stranger’ was inspired by the writings of Leonard Cohen,” he explains. “He has this playful cheekiness when describing sex and foreplay in his stories. It’s poetic, romantic and humorous at the same time. That was the bar I set when I wrote this song.”
James is no stranger to writing good songs. His debut album ‘Never Setting Sun’ produced a number one hit song in Greece and received critical acclaim. With the release of his second album, he appeared on the Rockwave Festival bill with The Killers, Placebo and Moby. James was also the second top billing on the Vibe stage for the largest music festival in Greece and has toured internationally performing shows in Japan, the UK, France, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand and the US.
In addition, James has picked up a number of accolades for his songwriting including the esteemed Sunnie Award for Best New Talent and Best International Artist Award at the MusicOz Awards. His recent song “Black Book” was featured in the music video documentary, The Sound, which won awards at the Festigious International Film Festival and at the Global Music Awards.
