Ellen gave fans one gift that will keep on giving this season - the news that our favorite comedian, talk show host, and all around media juggernaut isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
According to TV Guide, NBCUniversal Owned Television Studios delivered the news earlier this week that DeGeneres has signed on to continue her much beloved show until summer of 2020.
Ellen has been encouraging audiences to get up and tap their toes with her since 2003, when The Ellen DeGeneres Show first premiered. Those dancing feet had some pretty big shoes when Oprah Winfrey left the day time talk show scene. Ellen has been on an incredibly journey since and continues to empower, inspire, and make people smile.
She has come a long way from that Johnny Carson couch, pioneering success for other female comedians. From stand up to sitcom star, author and finally her own talk show and fashion line, it seems that Ellen has found a place in the hearts of many and continues to strive for equal rights and using her powers to share generosity on every level possible.
In a statement issued by Ken Werner, president of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, he said:
Day in and day out Ellen delivers the best show on television. Ellen and her team produce a completely unique and exciting hour, which is appointment television for viewers everywhere. We are thrilled to continue our 13-year partnership with the NBC Stations which delivers to their communities the entertainment and inspiration of Ellen.
I am personally thrilled to see this news because Ellen has been an inspiration to me on so many levels. Are you an Ellen fan? Share your stories of inspiration in the comments below!
