Emerging Artist, STRUAN Returns With “Want You Back Now”

Independent music lately has been absolutely insane. The amount of music and talent that is coming from the indie world right now is quite insane, and I should also add, admirable. One artist, specifically, who has been putting out amazing music lately, STRUAN.

Hailing from Nashville Tennessee, STRUAN’s. music is quickly landing the eyes of everyone who indie artists hope to gain the attention from – playlist curators, other artists, etc. & that is exactly what is happening with this emerging artist. Additionally, as you check out some of his stunning discography, you will begin to realize not only is this guy talented, but his music is honestly… a soundtrack to your twenties and just figuring out life.

Now, though you may not be familiar with his music, yet (that’s about to change – he’s about to be massive), his most recent release “Go Out With My Friends” was featured on “Fresh Finds” and “soda”, with past releases having been featured on Spotify’s “New Music Friday Germany, Switzerland, and Denmark” among other editorial playlists. He also writes for artists such as Mike Mains, LVRBOY, has a release with Pete Kingsman with over 1.2 million streams on Spotify, and has had over 10 placements on MTV and Oxygen.

“I grew up in the DC area and went to school in Charlottesville, Va.  I had numerous bands and solo projects opening up for bands like Parachute and The Downtown Fiction, but it wasn’t until a couple years ago when I started writing for the STRUAN project that I knew I’d landed on something that felt truly “me”.

“…I’d been living in Nashville for a couple years, and I realized I’d stopped loving music.  I was either going to quit and become a pilot or something (lol) or find a way to make music fun again.  That’s when I wrote the first songs on this project and I knew I was hooked on songwriting again in a way I hadn’t been since I was 16.” – STRUAN told us.

Written with Jordan DePaul (apka, LVRBOY) “Want You Back Now” is the first song I’ve ever co-produced (with Julian Dente).  It’s heavily influenced by the 90s/early 2000s bands that I grew up on and I knew Julian would be able to capture that vision perfectly“. – He continued.

“…This project has always been about what it means to be young, making mistakes, and going through break ups.  The next upcoming songs in particular embody that for me.  My songs are never prescriptive–they’re more the part of therapy where you face the fall out from your bad decisions and say, “well, damn.  how did i get here?” STRUAN continued.

“…I’m the king of breaking up with someone and regretting it later.  I started writing this chorus late one night when I knew I was close to making a call that would get me in trouble.” He finished with.

There’s so much talent in STRUAN and honestly, words can’t begin to express how excited we are to watch what is to come for him and all of his collaborators. & It’s no secret that big things are to come for this guy. If you want to be along on the ride, check out STRUAN on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, as well as his official website. “Want You Back Now” is available on all of your favorite music streaming platforms, now.
