Eminem debuted a teaser clip from the video for his new single “Berzerk” during halftime of the Notre Dame vs Michigan game Saturday night and to say that the interview was awkward is probably an understatement. After showing the clip the broadcasters in the booth, Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musberger, attempted to speak to him about the filming process of the new video but he seemed very out of it. He stared away from the camera for a few moments before finally speaking up with this response: "Sorry, live TV. Live TV freaks me out a little bit. What was the question? … It’s usually like a two-day process, sometimes it can go to three. It’s a lot of takes. … If the video comes out, then I guess it’s worth it."
They then proceeded to ask him what he was most excited about with his new album to which he replied, “Nothing” with a blank stare. He quickly added, “No, it’ll be out November 5th. I’ll be probably be most excited to just be done with it.”
It was announced during the interview that his single “Berzerk” would be the new opening song for Saturday Night Football starting September 14th. Eminem made it clear that he was very honored to have his song featured in the intro.
"It’s a pleasure. It’s an honor to be able to do that. … Album will out Nov. 5. I’m probably most excited just to be done with it. It’s kind of revisit to the first Marshall Mathers LP. That’s pretty much all I can probably say about it."
If you haven’t seen the interview yet I will warn you now that it’s a little uncomfortable to watch how awkward Eminem is throughout the interview spacing out between questions, but you also may get a laugh out of it as well.
I will however leave you with how the interview itself ended.
“You’re a legend,” Eminem said to Musberger.
“You my friend, are the legend,” Musberger replied.
“I’m really uncomfortable right now,” Eminem said.
Trust me when I say I don’t think you were the only one who was uncomfortable with that interview Eminem.
