There is no denying that Empire was one of the biggest television phenomenons of last year. With its brand massively grown, the show is making a comeback to Fox with its second season this coming fall and it only now got its full-length trailer unleashed. In addition to that, we’ve got news on that spin-off as well!

Fox was quick to tease fans with a short trailer for the second season, but is now giving away the real deal. The extended trailer, double the length of the previous one, finds Lucious Lyon in serious trouble; not only is he in prison, but Andre is looking to have him removed from the CEO’s chair, with Cookie’s blessings. The beef between Jamal and Hakeem seems never ending, but to everyone’s surprise, the former has his father’s blessings to lead Empire. The trailer also gives fans a first look at the likes of Marisa Tomei and Chris Rock, who will be just a couple of the second season’s guest stars.

In other Empire news, series creator Lee Daniels took the chance to speak about the show recently and revealed there will definitely be a spin-off at some point. According to him, there’s much more to the Lyon family and what it means for Lucious and Cookie respectively. Furthermore, Fox has given a pilot order to another show by Daniels, called Star; telling the story of an up and coming girlband in Atlanta, the network has hinted at a potential crossover between the two shows in the future.

Empire is scheduled to return to Fox with its 18-episode second season on September 23, at 9 PM ET. For the time being, take a look at the full trailer below.
