Hailing from Michigan, rising talent Enea has been exploring his passion for hip-hop and rap since he was 8 years old. Deciding to pursue a career in music at 16, e contributed his flow and verses to a group called CashHounds before making a solo move in 2015.
A solo debut followed shortly thereafter in the form of a 17 track mixtape called Accept Me. Incorporating elements of R&B, pop hooks, and his impassioned lyricism Enea imbued the release with personality. The album hits hard and incorporates some throwback elements to the earlier days of hip-hop, and with it the young artist effectively established himself as an act to keep your eyes on.
Several months into 2016, and the aspiring rapper is back on the scene with his latest release "21." The track is a breezy anthem about growing up and heading out into the "adult" world. Proclaiming himself "too old for this shit," Enea expresses interest in moving out of his parents house and starting his own life. With the addition of guitars and the sweetly crooned "21's" throughout the track takes on a more alternative sound reminiscent of work from Mike Posner or Hoodie Allen. It's big, brazen, and a solid listen throughout, thereby making his exploration into a different subset of the hip-hop genre a raging success.
The accompanying music video is a laid-back ode to Enea's youthful lifestyle. The aspiring rapper wakes up in his parent's house, enjoys a breakfast prepared by his mom, and hits the studio to begin working towards his independence. The video is far from being all work no play though, as Enea enjoys some hookah in the recording studio and also hits a skate park when he needs a break. Overall the visual is a bright and well shot ode to the balance between work and play, and Enea seems to have it all under control!
