It's often said that music is therapeutic and that it can heal even the most painful of wounds. For Tom Clay, such thoughts ring especially true.
Growing up in Hampshire in the UK, he was at first drawn to the bright lights of LA, where he moved aged 20 in the hopes of launching a successful acting career. It was there he met the girl who would later become his wife and subsequently change his life forever.
Sadly, tragedy struck just as Clay was making a name for himself on the live music circuit, and the death of his wife inspired him to turn his thoughts into powerful and emotive songs. The result is his debut album Sanctuary, due out next month.
The album is a powerful exploration of thoughts and feelings, filled with music inspired by the lessons life throws at us each and every day. Clay has already been compared musically to the likes of The Lumineers, but he is, as he has always planned to be, his own artist, and Sanctuary proves it perfectly.
With 2016 looking to be his busiest and best year yet, PopWrapped is delighted to premiere the title track from Tom Clay's debut collection, a strong and emotive introduction to a talent that is set to reach a far wider audience in the coming months.
