Facebook Is A Giant Rainbow: 26 Million Go Multicolored In Support Of Same-Sex Marriage

Ever since SCOTUS handed down the same-sex marriage ruling, social media has become one giant, supportive and loving rainbow.

Ever since SCOTUS handed down the same-sex marriage ruling, social media has become one giant, supportive and loving rainbow.

In support of the Supreme Court’s historic ruling on same-sex marriage, social media united in a global show of solidarity.

Rainbow style images flooded Facebook with more than 26 million users changing their profile pictures via a newly developed program. Photos of users around the world, including those of Leonardo DiCaprio and Pitch Perfect 2‘s Elizabeth Banks, have since received more than half a billion likes.

More social media users are joining in all the time and despite concerns that Facebook are adding those who participate in the campaign to a database, it’s looking more and more likely that the views of those who don’t support the demonstration of unity aren’t going to the immense pride felt by the millions who do.
