London's rising alt-rock group FADES is rapidly establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Comprised of Joshua Woo on vocals and guitar, Alessandra Melchior on guitar/keys, Lucas Mendes on lead guitar, James Dibble on bass, and Keir Adamson on drums the group is preparing to release their self-titled EP on March 11. The collection showcases their powerful yet melodic sounds and is set to make quite the statement!

The project roars through your speakers, kicking off with lead single "Breaking Through The Walls." Serious strings and a solid drum line set the scene for a striding number, on which the group announce that they are on their way to great things, bursting through the door, and weathering the storm. Coupled with a music video, which sees the band performing in their van on the way to an roadside gig, promises big things for the rising rockers and effectively kicks off the EP with a bang.

"I've Been Away Too Long" kicks off with an extended instrumental introduction that builds anticipation and tension before going in for the kill. On the track the band deals with separation from a lover while on the road.

The album moves into "Before My Eyes," which starts out as a striding midtempo before some epic strings kick things into high gear. "I saw the world before my eyes / I was a child crying" Woo sings, before his vocals give way to the roaring production behind him. The track is a standout on the collection, as it truly highlights each musician's exceptional skills. Woo's vocals are particularly enthralling as he sings of the evils he has experienced and the stresses of accepting responsibility for so much. "I was a body burning" he sings in the final cacophonous moments, before things come back down and he finds himself sliding under the waves.

"The Killing Floor" and "Dog On A Leash" are deliver fairly standard, though impressive rock fare. "The Killing Floor" resonates with an almost eerie intrigue, as FADES offer themselves up to a lover on a dance floor. There's a dark and alluring seduction to the track, and the instrumentation resounds with a frenzied passion. The passionate struggles continues through to "Dog On A Leash," on which the band find themselves forcibly tamed and fight back for their passion over another serious instrumentation.

FADES close the EP out with "Everybody Knows." The track kicks off as a stadium sized ballad, which grows in power as it moves into the final few moments. Another gorgeous vocal performance, coupled with the striding drumline make for a thoroughly encapsulating listen. "Wake from your sleep, everybody knows what they mean" Woo proclaims, and we think that it's becoming increasingly evident that FADES means business... The track is an absolute album standout, and one of the most compelling rock anthems in recent memory.

All in all FADES have a strong release on their hands, one that puts them on the path to a long and successful career.

FADES will be available as of March 11! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the official release!
