Fans of Fall Out Boy will have something new to sink their teeth into
this coming Monday (September 8), after an official announcement succeeded some crazy Morse code and images of a super secret music video shoot.
The speculation ran rampant earlier this week after members of the band had initially blacked out their social media accounts, uploading a 6-second-long trailer displaying the aforementioned Morse. It was deciphered by some particularly canny fans as the word "centuries".
A short time thereafter, some images arrived online of a supposed shoot for an all-new music video from the band, including one with a man tied to a cross
and a couple with one lucky fan
Earlier this morning (September 5), Fall Out Boy had officially confirmed that "Centuries" will, indeed, be released as their new single and that an accompanying music video would also be on its way.
Its artwork is revealed on the official iTunes pre-order page
, which features an upraised fist donning a boxing glove. It has an x-ray effect overlaid unto it so that you can see right down to the fighter's bones. The "t" in "Fall Out Boy" is also represented by a cross, relating it directly to the Christian imagery seen in the above leaked photo from the upcoming music video.
