Staff Media Lead Family Guy fans erupted when show creator Seth MacFarlane killed off fan favorite, Brian last year. The death of the famous pooch was short-lived though after an apparent resurrection brought the sarcastic canine right back into our lives. “We were all very surprised, in a good way, that people still cared enough about that character to be that angry. We thought it would create a little bit of a stir, but the rage wasn’t something we counted on,” MacFarlane told Entertainment Weekly saying he had not expected such a violent reaction to the death of the character. Though he hasn’t said whether he ever intended to bring Brian back or if fan outrage had a hand in the reincarnation, but he did go on to say the “stunt” served its purpose, “... It reminded people this is still a show where anything that can happen despite the fact it’s been on for a while.” When asked if there’s a chance he would try to kill Brian off again, he assures fans he won’t. “Would I do it again? No. We already did it.” So rest easily my friends, Brian is back for good, though it appears we may simply have fallen prey to a well devised publicity stunt to keep us hooked. Well, it worked.
