This week's episode of Modern Family
focuses mainly around Phil and the Dunphy family, who have had to temporarily vacate their home due to a mold problem. Luckily, Phil manages to get the final room at a nearby hotel for the whole family, which works out exactly as you'd expect: complete and utter chaos. The family falls out and there is not enough bed space, leaving Luke with the bath as a bed. Did we fail to mention there is only one corner of the room with wifi? This all becomes too much for Claire, who sneaks out to her own room, but is caught in the act by a disgruntled Phil. After all of the family leave Phil in his own room, he finds another family to play his favourite pool game, Marco Polo, with.
Gloria faced the age-old problem of managing Manny's first girlfriend without snooping. She gets protective and wants to know what is going on, but Manny does not want her butting-in, as she is prone to do. However, when his relationship falls apart, Manny does not go to his mother, but instead to Jay for some fatherly advice and a secret drink of scotch.
Cam had managed to coach his football team to five wins in a row, and was hoping to make it six... Until Mitchell turns up to support Cam and supposedly brings some bad luck with him. Eventually, Cam wins, and looks to Mitchell to celebrate but he had left after Cam implied he was jinxing the team. Cam calls Mitch to apologise, but gets the "I'm on the fence," reply. However, what Cam did not realise was that Mitch meant this literally, and had managed to get himself stuck whilst trying to storm away.
I really like the way this season is going so far, and the Dunphy change of scenery was a nice surprise too. I like the easy-laugh nature it seems to have so far, and I liked seeing the resurfacing of the game 'Marco Polo' which I have not been able to play in ages!
