Sunday night marked the final day California’s biggest music and arts festival, Coachella. Despite windstorms and heat, oceans of fans joyfully danced and sang along with their favorite artists, enjoying themselves – and their money’s worth. The demand for this year’s festival was unlike any other, selling out in advance with some last minute fans paying over a thousand dollars to attend.

The three-day concert brought out over 200,000 attendees including celebrities like Vanessa Anne-Hudgens and Jared Leto. With artists like Disclosure, Haim, Skrillex, and Lorde, music fans were provided with an array of genres to listen to and several surprises. Lana del Rey performed her new single, “West Coast” while Skrillex performed tracks from his new album, “Recess.”

There were also some onstage surprises like pop sensation, Justin Bieber during Chance the Rapper’s set. Pharrell brought out his signature hat as well as Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes (all whom he’s done tracks with). Sultry SNL crooner, Sam Smith sang his hit “Latch” and the original queen bee (Sorry, Lorde) Beyoncé, did some dancing during her sister, Solange’s set.

The most notable performance of the weekend was the Outkast reunion, 20 years in the making. The hip-hop duo pleased the crowd with old favorites from “Hey Ya” to “Ms. Jackson.”

Coachella continues to dominate the music scene, and there’s no doubt that it will for years to come. The festival continues this Friday with weekend two, with even more surprises and great music.

Did any of you PopWrappers attend this past weekend? Who is going this weekend? Give us your feedback!
