Fox has confirmed Bones for its tenth and final season. Showrunner Hart Hanson sat down with Guide TV to give us his super secret plan for the end of an era.
In the interview, Hanson revealed that he had an idea of how he’s planning to end the series, but admits, “I haven’t told anyone.” Apparently he’s been planning this ending since season four.
Before the series finale, Hanson is coming up with a quasi-supernatural episode that would be a sort of retrospective.
“It would take place in a spooky world where all the victims they got justice for show up, perhaps, as ghosts, and a few bad (guys), too.”
Hanson also says they are planning to bring back some characters from the past, like the victim from the show’s very first episode–a Senate intern who went missing–and others.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show has been one of the biggest successes for Fox. Over the last decade, Bones has boosted Fox’s audience, and provided stability for the cast and crew.
Even though it just made the switch to Fridays, Bones will be returning to its Monday night programming starting March 10.
