Season 2 of Fargo took us from the events of 2006 (in Season 1), all the way back to the '70s, revealing a younger Lou Solverson before he owned the diner. Other than that connection, everything is different in Season 2, making us all wonder what Season 3 could bring.
Well, it has been confirmed that Season 3 will take place a few years after Season 1, but not too close to now so they can keep up the "this is a true story" facade.
So, if they bring it forward, that could mean a return of some of the original cast members. Molly (Allison Tolman) could return, as well as her husband Gus (Colin Hanks) and a few others. Anyone that survived is fair game. I imagine there will be something to tie the show together but expect a different story once again.
Now, let's get serious for a moment. I had high hopes that they'd jump forward but more like to the late '90s/early 2000s because then we could get the skinny on Lorne Malvo and some of those other tapes in his case. I will hope for that every time we start thinking about a new season, though.
What do you think readers? Are you excited about the jump forward in the next season of Fargo, or do you like my idea? Or were you hoping for more time in the past? Sound off in the comments! I'll definitely take more Molly Solverson... it's almost as good as more Malvo.
