The much anticipated sequel Amazing Spider-Man 2 is coming our way in May 2014, and there’s still a lot of secrecy surrounding the plot and characters that will be featured in the film. However, it seems as though Felicity Jones may have spilled a few details regarding her character.
In the upcoming sequel Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) will go up against several super-villains including Electro (Jamie Foxx) and The Rhino (Paul Giamatti), but from what Jones revealed, she may be appearing as the female anti-hero Felicia Hardy aka The Black Cat.
In an interview with Collider, Jones revealed that she contributed to the costumes her character wears. “It’s a medium that’s very collaborative. Actors and directors work on things together. That’s how I like to work, anyway,” she said leaving out any part regarding what exactly her costumes are.
Earlier this year, Jones was a little taken back when asked if she was excited for people to see her as the Black Cat. Clearly the question threw her off. “Um, well, uh, possibly. I don’t know. Yeah, I kind of—it’s um. Yeah, if that happens, that would be wonderful,” she awkwardly replied. Either she was trying to hide the fact that she is the Black Cat or she’s not even playing that character at all.
Jones has also been rumored to play Lily Hollister, whose alter ego is Menace. So at this point we still have no official confirmation regarding Jones’s character, but we do know she will be wearing a costume.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released May 2, 2014.
