Fans of music festivals had better start getting hyped up, because the Firefly Music Festival has officially released the full list of performers for their 2016 set. The Red Frog Events-hosted fest takes place in Dover, Delaware and has been heralded as the "East Coast's Premier Music Experience." Next year's run of the Firefly Music Festival is set to take place between June 16 and 19, and the lineup shows that they are pulling out all the stops to keep that title!
Indie pop-rockers Mumford & Sons, Kings of Leon, Florence & The Machine and EDM master Deadmau5 are all set to claim headlining spots during the event. This year's Firefly Music Festival will also boast performances from fan favorites like Ellie Goulding, Disclosure, Blink-182, and Ludacris. Rising talents such as Sigala, Fetty Wap, and Elle King will impress us early on in their careers, while acts like Earth Wind & Fire are bringing an element of history to the lineup.
Firefly Music Festival is renowned for it's eclectic lineup of performers, and this year is no less impressive than past years. Hip-Hop acts will spit their flows on the stage, before rockers bring the house down, pop stars lay it all out, and EDM mavens light things up.
Although music plays a huge role in the festival, organizers go out of their way to create a fun environment as well. Thanks to a partnership with local Dogfish Head Brewery, the party continues in the area surrounding the event's seven stages.
This year's event was one of the most successful, yet most dramatic since it's foundation in 2012. With the legendary Paul McCartney joined by the Kings of Leon and The Killers as headliners, festival insiders were proud to announce their first ever sold out venue. Approximately 90,000 music fans packed themselves into the venue at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway for a wild weekend of performances.
Unfortunately a sold out venue was not enough to stop Mother Nature from putting a damper on the festival, as organizers were forced to cancel the show in the middle of the final day. This year's dramatic summer of storms got the best of audience, and a dangerous thunderstorm forced headliner Kings of Leon to back out of their performance. Guess it is a good thing that they'll have a second chance in the top spot this year!
