Twentieth Century Fox tweeted a first glimpse Friday of the upcoming film Gone Girl starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Check out @BenAffleck as Nick Dunne, a suspect seeking the truth in his wife's disappearance in #GoneGirl. pic.twitter.com/BFyogUBzbT
— 20th Century Fox (@20thcenturyfox) December 28, 2013
Gone Girl, directed by David Fincher, is based on the Gillian Flynn novel, which was number one on the New York Times Bestseller List for eight weeks after its release last year. Fincher is no stranger to film adaptations, having also directed the Acadamy Award-winning film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Affleck will play Nick Dunne, whose wife Amy goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary. The image released by Fox shows Affleck addressing a crowd with a Missing poster of his wife’s photograph in the background, and her parents (played by Lisa Banes and David Clennon) standing to the side looking on. Affleck recently told Entertainment Weekly that he’s happy with the project’s transition from book to screen. “I don’t want to give away too much, because if you know the book, you know that there are set of reveals that you would want to maintain the integrity of,” he said. “But I will say that Gillian adapted it and I think it’s very, very faithful to her book. If you read the book and liked it, you will definitely like the movie.” Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry also star in the film. Gone Girl is expected in theaters on October 3, 2014. http://www.Twitter.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.tumblr.com http://www.SoundCloud.com/PopWrapped http://www.Facebook.com/PopWrapped http://www.Instagram.com/PopWrapped http://www.Pinterest.com/PopWrapped http://www.YouTube.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.wordpress.com http://www.PopWrapped.com
