UPDATE: NBC has announced that Chris Pratt will be hosting the season premiere, with Sarah Silverman hosting the second episode. As for Murray's hosting gig it is TBD at this point. Original post follows:
After a lackluster previous season, it seems Lorne Michaels and the Saturday Night Live gang are back on track.
There are rumors that the first three hosts of the show are probably the best choices the show could have made. It isn't officially announced by either NBC or Saturday Night Live, but several NBC affiliates have posted the news.
On September 27th, comedy titan Bill Murray will return to Studio 8H. Murray was a castmember way back in the 1970s and 1980s. His hosting stint here will be his sixth overall for the show. He will be joined by musical guest Ariana Grande.
On October 4th, the hilarious Sarah Silverman will also return to her old stomping grounds. Silverman may not be a legendary comedienne, but very few know that she actually did spend some time on Saturday Night Live as a featured castmember. She was only there for a mere 18 weeks between 1993 and 1994, but that small exposure ended up giving Silverman the fantastic career she has now. She will be joined by musical guests Maroon 5, who will make their fifth appearance on the show, joining the exclusive "Five-Timer's Club".
Finally, Chris Pratt will host on October 11th. Pratt has gone from goofy supporting player in movies and TV shows to a global superstar, thanks to his breakout performance in box-office dynamite Guardians of the Galaxy. He will make his first hosting appearance on the show. Hopefully he can bring along his fellow Parks and Recreation star and former SNL alum Amy Poehler (I'm hoping for a cameo by Groot as well, but I'm doubtful). He will be joined by first-time musical guest Hozier
