Things could have been very different for two popular characters on the beloved show Once Upon a Time. Apparently, Captain Hook and Ruby were supposed to flirt with romance as revealed in a special deleted scene from "In the Name of the Brother" - the ninth episode of season 2. I can bet Red Hook (fans of the Ruby/Hook pairing) are shocked by this little revelation. In this little snippet (which you can watch below), Hook has escaped from his hospital room. Dressed in hospital garb, he wanders over to a furious Emma. Holding up a platter of blue Jell-O, Hook asks, “What’s this? I found it on a tray…” Basically dismissing Emma’s demands about breaking free of the handcuffs, the pirate shakes the plate as he demands, “What the bloody hell is this?” He still seems wary of the food even after Snow and Emma assure him it is food. Hook even admits he thought it was “hallucination”. Then, he spots Ruby.  Giving her the classic come-hither eye that Colin O'Donoghue has dreamily perfected, Hook purrs, "Well, hello. You're quite real, aren't you?" Then he’s soved off to his room, thus the end of canon Red Hook scenes (at least for now). [youtube=] If you want to catch up on all of the extras (like deleted scenes and bloopers) feel free to check out Once Upon a Time, season 2, on DVD and Blu-ray, which hit stores on Aug. 13. Season 1 of the fantasy series is also out for purchase on DVD and Blu-ray, too. And, of course, you can catch the current season on Sunday’s at 8 PM, EST. So, are you a Red Hook fan? Would exploration of their relationship make you squeal? Or does your heart flutter for other pairings? Please, share your comments and thoughts.
