There’s no chance you live on planet Earth and haven’t heard the rumors about Prison Break making a return to the small screen with an all-new season. Fox has now gone and confirmed that the show will actually be returning with an event series!Apparently, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell will not only be co-stars in The CW’s Legends Of Tomorrow, as both actors will be reprising their roles in the new run of Prison Break. The event series will be more of a sequel and will pick up a few years after the original series finale, featuring even more significant characters from the show. However, it seems the death of Michael Scofield in Prison Break: The Final Break will end up being ignored, as executive producer Paul Scheuring has pitched "a very logical and believable - in the world of Prison Break - explanation for why our characters are alive and still moving around the world." Even though Scheuring doesn’t have a clear idea of where he’s heading with this sequel yet, he’s totally expected to finally give answers to some questions.Prison Break premiered on Fox back in 2005 and was lead to a finale in 2009, after having created a huge fanbase and a massive franchise. The forthcoming event series will run for 10 episodes and even though there’s no premiere date just yet, it’s expected to be sometime in 2016. Most probably, the success of the original show’s run on Netflix and the one of 24: Live Another Day are to thank for this miracle.
