Fox may be in the market for a new show.
Saturday Night Live writers Lorne Michaels and John Mulaney have penned a new pilot that they have pitched to the network after NBC decided not to go ahead with the project last month.
Fox’s interests have heightened and they are considering giving the untitled show a six episode pick-up contingent upon some minor script and cast shakeups.
Martin Short is set to star in the comedy alongside Mulaney, who also co-wrote the script.
Michaels is set to executive produce the series whose plot is apparently loosely based on Mulaney’s life. He will share executive producing duties for the pilot with Andrew Singer, David Miner, and Dave Becky. Andy Ackerman of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld is set to direct the new comedy.
Is this something you hope gets picked up by a network?
