Francis Aud Presents His Upbeat New Single “Codeine Kiss”

“Codeine Kiss” is a song meant to help you do something with all of that “I-wanna-dance-bootyshake-energy” you’ve got stored up.”

Summer and all the pleasures that come with it, including sun-drenched holidays – might be long-gone – and for many of us, it feels like they have been so for a very long time (thank you Covid!), but the new track from Francis Aud titled “Codeine Kiss” and which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, is sure to give those who hear it some upbeat, positive feelings and get heads nodding and toes tapping thanks to its insanely catchy hook, and an infectious and rather impressive 80’s synthesizer solo.

Asked about the inspiration to/message behind the song and what he hopes listeners will take from it, Francis says: “Let’s be honest…Summer 2020 was a wash, the fall came too damn soon, and now what are we all left with? Lots of pent-up summer sunshine party energy, except now we’re all wearing hoodies and turtlenecks and are forced to have our dance parties inside while sipping our PSL’s while waiting for winter. “Codeine Kiss” is a song meant to help you do something with all of that “I-wanna-dance-bootyshake-energy” you’ve got stored up and help you groove into the fall.”

He goes on to add: “I was thinking about our current quest for a vaccine for Covid, then I started thinking about doctors, then I started thinking about going to the doctor’s office, then I started thinking about getting prescribed medication for whatever was ailing me, then I watched that Netflix documentary about drugs – specifically the episode where they talk about how doctors got people addicted to Oxy, then I started writing a song about addiction and it turned out to be too groovy to not share with the world. May or may not be the be-all-end-all cure for Covid…only one way to find out!”
