Fans of the Hunger Games books are getting excited over the imminent release the second movie, Catching Fire.  Production on the two films of the third book, Mockingjay are roaring into action with a slew of casting announced. Following the news last week of Julianne Moore’s casting as President Coin, we have confirmation of another spot having been filled. Digital Spy has announced that Broadway star, Patina Miller, has joined the cast as Commander Paylor in the final two films of the series. Those familiar with the books will remember that Paylor is one of the rebel commanders that our hero, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) first encounters in District 8 when she goes to the hospital in order to film a propaganda spot (propo) for the Airtime Assault on the Capitol. Miller is best known for her work on the stage. She recently won a Tony Award for the 2013 revival of Pippin. She made her name as the original Deloris Van Cartier in the West End production of Sister Act in 2009 and brought it to Broadway in 2011. This will mark Miller’s film debut. Although, she has previously been on the television series, All My Children. It may be a way off till we get to see Moore and Miller in Mockingjay. You can get your Hunger Games fill, however, when Catching Fire is released on November 22.
