When you hear the name Joan Jett, usually the thing to come to mind is a punk rocker with a “Bad Reputation,” not executive producer of a romantic comedy.
The movie, Undateable John, is described as a “dark indie romantic comedy,” starring Daryl Hannah, Tom Arnold, Margaret Cho, Shannen Doherty, and Jett, who will star in addition to producing.
According to Deadline, Jett plays a “surf punk musician” who finds friends in an A.A. meeting.
This won’t be Jett’s first time as producer, she also produced the 2011 film The Runaways, about her band of the same name.
The romantic comedy part of the film seems to come from the friends she meets the the meeting, a couple described as “misfit lovebirds.”

According to IMDb, Undateable John is set to come out in 2014.
