Wesley Snipes is returning to the big screen for the first time since getting out of prison, and he’s doing it in a big way. During the official worldwide reveal of The Expendables 3, he was confirmed as a new addition to the cast!
Prior to the reveal, Snipes had joked that co-producer and film star Sylvester Stallone had considered him for an Expendables role as early as the first movie’s release, but he couldn’t oblige since he was “just a little occupied at the time.” News of Snipes’ comments had made fans rampant with speculation, with their suspicions officially being confirmed yesterday (August 5).
The movie also aims to make light of Snipes’ prison time- for which he was in for three years due to tax evasion -with a wise crack at evasion reportedly being made during the film’s opening scenes. Of the jest, Snipes remarked, “Whether I do something really funny or really stupid, it is okay with me. I think that is what life is about. You can’t take life itself too seriously.”
Currently, Snipes is looking for brand-new action projects to tackle, with a return to the Blade series at the very tip-top off his list.
