With the movie hitting theaters in only two short months, it’s about time that the trailer for Disney’s new film Moana is released. There have been small clips and teasers, but only now is the full trailer out and getting loyal Disney fans very hyped.
Moana looks like a fun, adventure-filled movie set two thousand years ago in the South Pacific. Moana, voiced by Auli’i Cravalho, is not only a princess but a self-sufficient heroine and friend of the ocean who sets off to find a mystical island and save the world. Along the way, she meets and teams up with a shape-shifting demigod named Maui, voiced by the legendary Dwayne Johnson.
And don’t worry about Moana being just another young Princess looking for love because this movie will apparently be free from romance! Disney has been long criticised for including unnecessary romance in their stories, so it seems like they’re finally listening to the fans!
Give this exciting trailer a watch!
I want to be friends with the ocean, too!
This looks really cool! It seems to have all the magical, lovable and charming elements expected in a Disney movie, complete with amazing animations, and it’s shedding light on a different culture.
And, like all Disney movies, this one will have a bunch of music, which should be spectacular since Lin Manuel Miranda of Hamilton fame is a part of it. Too bad more of it wasn’t in the trailer because you couldn’t really tell there’d be singing in this.
But what people really seem to be excited for is the fact that Moana is not your standard thin protagonist. She’s got curves, and people are celebrating this body positivity. Moana is shaping up to be a real game changer.
Disney’s Moana is set to hit theaters on November 23rd. Will you be there on opening day?
