Nate Ruess is generally known as the frontman of fun., but he is currently trying to launch a solo career. After offering his vocals for several collaborations, the singer has now released his debut single, "Nothing Without Love", and the accompanying music video.
The track does not take the singer too far from his work with fun., even though it's more personal for him. He pulls it off perfectly himself anyway, with his vocals complimenting the stomping, drum-heavy production. The accompanying visuals find Nate Ruess in the sea, singing the chorus out loud with his head out of the water, before he's found all alone in the city and with his beloved out in the fields. Strangers then surround him in the streets, but he manages to find his girl and the two seem happier than ever.
With other members of fun. going solo, Nate Ruess decided he should give it a try as well, with the songs he wrote about his personal life. The band is definitely not done though, as they will be back together when inspiration calls. "Nothing Without Love" serves as the very first offering to be lifted from the frontman's forthcoming, solo studio album, which is expected to come out this coming summer.
