There is a new (and noble) IndieGoGo campaign called “Help Us Build A No Kill Animal Shelter.” It started July 12th and has just over 40 days left until the campaign’s completion. However, very few funds have been raised. As of this publication, only $317.00 out of the $30,000.00 goal has been pledged.

Based out of Dartmouth/New Bedford, Massachusetts, the plan is to build Odie’s Sanctuary Animal Shelter. It will be in honor of the shelter dog Otis. This group wants to make sure this dog’s name and the joyfulness of his nature continues on – even if he is no longer with them. The goal is to build “an amazing sanctuary for homeless animals and give them the second chance that they deserve.” This will be a no kill center. What a wonderful sentiment and mission!

What will the money go towards? It will help purchase land, build the shelter, get utilities hooked up, and arrange for the center to have veterinary care. While this place will be a temporary home for the abandoned animals, they will not be killed to make room for more. All animals will stay until they have a family.

There will be some perks even if you can only spare $1.00. To see the full list of rewards, check out their page. You can also read (and watch) about this campaign while visiting their webs-pace.
