Game of Thrones
Season 4 is just around the corner! Keeping up with the marketing tour de force HBO has been putting on lately, there was another GOT event last night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Extremely lucky fans got a sneak peek
at the first episode entitled "Two Swords", and got to see some of the major actors from the show. They even got to sit on the actual Iron Throne!
On hand was Kristian Nairn (Hodor), who was visibly in awe of the love he got from the audience who in turn were introduced the brains behind the operation, author George RR Martin. As if fans weren't already nerding out, fellow GOT stars Maisie Williams (Arya), John Bradley West (Sam), and Sibel Kekilli (Shae) made an appearance, throwing that lucky crowd into a frenzy.
There was a question-and-answer session with the stars, with stories of filming in Iceland, Kit Harrington's "big brown" eyes, and general lack of swordsmanship. Of course, as expected from any big Game of Thrones
fan, someone asked Martin when he will be releasing the next book, The Winds of Winter
to which he replied, "I'm working on it!" This gave the audience quite a laugh.
So that's cool right? Seeing the episode we're all dying for, getting to ask the stars of the show questions, and also getting to hear Common perform his GOT song "The Ladder" live. Not enough for you? Well, how about a raffle, with the price being a life-sized replica of the Iron Throne! Some amazingly lucky fan won last night and got to take that home to bask in it's iron glory. You can bet I'd totally watch every single episode in that throne, and I'd probably buy a fake crown for good measure.
