According to the UK’s Daily Star Sunday, a big screen edition of Game of Thrones is in the works. They were reportedly heard from the mouth of The Man himself, George R.R. Martin who is quoted, as saying,
“There will be a movie but I will not be involved.”
And why not? Because, according to Martin:
I have too much to do. That is something HBO and the DB and David are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do. The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don’t write faster.
Take your time George…as long as you write a good story, your fans will forgive you.
As for details relating to the alleged movie, there are few and they are credited to the ever popular “insider” who told the Daily Star,
“The film may go back in time – paving the way for dead characters to return.” The names of characters were even bandied about — Ned Stark for one.
Am I going to hold my breath for this one? Probably not, but I will remain cautiously optimistic, knowing that at least another novel is around the bend.
