George Clooney and his The Monuments Men film, have joined the list of films pushed back until the new year.
Due to post-production delays, the film will no longer be released on December 18, taking it out of the 2014 Oscar race reports the Los Angeles Times.
“We just didn’t have enough time,” Clooney said. “If any of the effects looked cheesy, the whole movie would look cheesy. We simply don’t have enough people to work enough hours to finish it.”
The movie, which co-stars Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Cate Blanchett, was written, directed and stars Clooney. The movie “centres around a group of art historians, museum curators and academics fighting to save priceless treasures from the Nazis,” according to Digital Spy.
The Monuments Men joins Foxcatcher, Grace of Monaco and The Immigrants as films that will be waiting until next year to premiere.
