@MikeShambo Source: The wait for new material from the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series is finally over as earlier today a paragraph of from the sixth installment of the books was released. Warning: some mild spoilers ahead for those who have only seen the television show and not read the books. Here’s a look at the exert written from the point of view from fan-favorite Tyrion Lannister: Somewhere off in the far distance, a dying man was screaming for his mother. “To horse!” a man was yelling in Ghiscari, in the next camp to the north of the Second Sons. “To horse! To horse!” High and shrill, his voice carried a long way in the morning air, far beyond his own encampment. Tyrion knew just enough Ghiscari to understand the words, but the fear in his voice would have been plain in any tongue. I know how he feels. It’s hard to interpret too much from just a few lines, but it’s fairly apparent that Tyrion has found himself in a bit of predicament (what else is new), and whenever Tyrion speaks of his own fear, you know the circumstances are going to be dire. Fans of the series are well aware of the torture that comes along with the wait for new content and, while this is just a little taste for now, the whole chapter will become available for users of Random House’s A World of Ice and Fore App sometime in March if fans are looking to further whet their appetite. At this point it’s difficult not to compare the book progress with that of the television show and everyone who is invested in the franchise has concerns about the time the books are taking Martin to write in comparison to the episodes the show keeps churning out. It’s been three years since the fifth book, A Dance with Dragons, was released and it’s still a mystery as to when The Winds of Winter will hit bookshelves. The day is looming where either HBO will have to stall production of the series, or George is going to have start pulling some all-nighters. Speaking of the HBO’s Game of Thrones, the show returns for season four on Sunday, April 6, at 9:00 EST. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, or just want to watch it again, here’s the 1:43 preview.
