Gamers—get your Keyblades ready!
Ever since its trailer debut at E3 2013, fans are already buzzing about the final installment to the Kingdom Hearts franchise!
Kingdom Hearts director Testuya Nomura revealed in an interview with both IGN and Kotaku that the game is still in the early stages of development, but offered some incentives for fans to dive into.
While the Kingdom Hearts director remains mum about the worlds that the gamers will be visiting, Nomura revealed that the basic plot that the director revealed was that Sora will return as the main protagonist for the finale and will go embark on a quest to save everything from the villainous Master Xehanort.
One of the features that Sora will have in Kingdom Hearts 3 is the ability to transform into his Keyblade.
In addition, the announcement trailer showed Sora being able to ride on a horde of Heartless foot soldiers, which means that if there are any large enemies that players can encounter during the game…they can ride on them!
Fans of the Disney/Final Fantasy crossover game can expect the visuals to have the similar “Kingdom Shader” style in the game, which games’ graphics not only a Disney twist but also a richer evolution of what players have seen up to now.
"The action’s pretty frantic. The really bold action we’ve always had is getting even crazier,” Nomura said. “Kingdom Hearts III has three-person parties, but NPCs and other characters join the fight in each individual world, and the resulting action is really flashy and exciting.”
Nomura also told IGN.com that fans could expect the enemy AI to be a lot more “intricate” and the Kingdom Hearts III gameplay can reflect the new dynamic balance.
Fans might receive new clues to the game at the 2013 Tokyo Game Show in September.
