"I love their sound world; it's though Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis met at a disco" tweeted UK choirmaster Gareth Malone of Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. The current release by the French duo has gained so much worldwide popularity; not only have the tracks climbed the charts across the globe, but have even shown up on a Dancing With the Stars routine performed by Bill Nye (that's right, I'm talking about the Science Guy.) Described in Rolling Stone wonderfully as electro-jazz-funk-epic and disco-fantasia, the album will be going to the next level with an upcoming Special Deluxe Edition re-release. In their signature cool and quirky style, Daft Punk leaked the news in a very special and exciting way for one particular fan this weekend at New York Comic Con. A mysterious box with the duo's logo was presented to lucky contest winner Janelle Rodriguez. The excited fan then went to Twitter, announcing a Golden Ticket Willy Wonka-style inside the box proclaiming her to be the first owner of the very special re-release of Random Access Memories. A quick retweet by Columbia Records was enough confimation for fans galore to create a buzz of anticipation. Now, the big question is, what are the goodies inside this new musical treasure trove for fans of Daft Punk? Aside from a copy of the actual album itself, there is rumored to be an appearance of a Japanese bonus track entitled "Horizon," a big surprise as a previously unreleased tune in the US. Not surprisingly, remixes of the megahits "Get Lucky" and "Lose Yourself to Dance" will be featured as well as a sprinkling of some more previously unreleased tracks, teasers, and videos. Aside from having one of the grooviest sounding names in the music business, Daft Punk appears to be aware of what the fans want and willing to oblige with some greatly anticipated ear candy! Hey - if Bill Nye The Science Guy dances for us to "Get Lucky," you know it must be good stuff!
