Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been waiting a very long time to be able to bring you this news, and now, finally, that wait is over. NBC have announced that the cult-comedy-classic Community will return to kick off season 5, with back-to-back episodes, on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 8 – 9pm. It will then settle in to its new permanent time slot of 8 – 8:30pm from January 9. If you’re not exactly sure what Community is all about, allow me to give you a brief introduction. Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) is a lawyer, well at least he used to be. He faked his credentials and eventually got caught out. In order to regain his lawyer status, he enrols in Greendale Community College. When Jeff meets Britta (Gillian Jacobs) he asks her to join his Spanish study group, unbeknownst to Britta, there is no study group, Jeff just wants in her pants. Britta, in turn invites Abed (Danny Pudi) to join the study group, who in turn brings along four others, Troy (Donald Glover), Annie (Alison Brie), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) and Pierce (Chevy Chase), and so it becomes that Jeff’s fictitious study group becomes real. The Study Group, as they become known, very rarely actually participate in any study, instead they get themselves mixed up in all kinds of shenanigans, mischief and trouble, including but not limited to, extreme paintball wars, yam murder, kidnapping, elaborate heists, pillow and blanket forts and of course, alternate timelines. Created by Dan Harmon, Community also stars Jim Rash as the fantastically flamboyant Dean Pelton and Ken Jeong as Señor Ben or Kevin Chang, depending on where abouts in the series you encounter him. So, there you have it, a (very) brief summary of Community and don’t forget to mark your calendars for January 2, 2014 and tune in to NBC at 8pm for the return of everyone’s favourite study group. http://www.Twitter.com/PopWrapped http://www.PopWrapped.Tumblr.com/ http://www.SoundCloud.com/PopWrapped http://www.Facebook.com/PopWrapped http://www.Instagram.com/PopWrapped http://www.Pinterest.com/PopWrapped http://www.YouTube.com/PopWrapped http://www.PopWrapped.wordpress.com/ http://www.PopWrapped.com
