Following in the wake of the Duchess of Cambridge’s final appearance before the birth of her first child with Prince William, royal sources have leaked information to the Mail Online about the baby and the birth.
First, the baby will be born in a private hospital – the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, west London. It is also the same hospital where its father was born. Royal sources said that the Duchess is not “too posh to push,” and if possible wants a natural birth.
During the birth, it is reported that Kate’s mother, Carole, and sister, Pippa, will be in the delivery room. The mother-to-be will want all her family around her as it seems William may not be in the area. It is said that the Prince may be on duty in North Wales, where he is working as a Search and Rescue pilot at RAF Valley. However, the dad is determined to be there and there are plans for a helicopter to be at the ready able to fly him to the hospital when it is time.
Usually at 20 weeks parents can choose to find out whether they are having a boy or a girl. According to Dr. Clive Spence Jones, a consultant gynecologist, 75% of parents want to know. However, the royal couple decided they did not want to be apart of that statistic and instead opted to be surprised.
At the time of birth, there will be a royal salute of 41 guns and a notice will shortly be posted on the gates of Buckingham Palace announcing the birth of the third in line to the throne.
Although the sources have declined to announce the exact due-date, Kate let it slip that she is expecting it to be sometime in the middle of July.
