Fellow actress Gina Gershon is set to star in Lifetime’s upcoming movie House of Versace as Donatella Versace. The TV channel reported about the TV film on August 15th. It will air on October 5th.  

The movie is about Versace’s adventure to advance the memory of her late brother Gianni, after his assassination in 1997.  Other actors set to be in the movie is Enrico Colantoni known for his role as Gregory Parker in the show Flashpoint.

Raquel Welsh (American Family) and Colm Feore (Revolution) are also in the movie as Donatella’s Aunt Lucia and brother Santo.  This is based off of Deborah Ball’s novel House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder and Survival. 

The movie is composed and co-funded byMarvista Entertainment with Fernando Szew, Ronald Gilbert and Robyn Snyder who are executive producers. Ric Nish will be producing the movie and Sara Sugarman will be directing it. The script is drafted by Rama Stagner.

The film will debut on October 5th at 8PM. It will then be accompanied by a documentary Versace: Beyond the Headlines at 10 PM.

This is an hourlong account of Versace’s beginning in the fashion field and his growth to overlook a multimillion dollar federation that goes on even after his death. The docudrama will consist of dialogues with people who had known him including other fashion designers.
