Girls Aloud Drama: Cheryl Slams Nadine Coyle

Even though Nadine Coyle stated that she didn’t want Girls Aloud to break up, Cheryl claimed otherwise in a recent interview.

Girls Aloud originally went in a hiatus in 2009. They later reunited in 2012 for the release of their second greatest hits studio album, Ten. The end of that era saw the group breaking bad for good though. While Nadine Coyle stated that she didn’t want the band to call it quits, Cheryl now claims otherwise.

Cheryl is currently promoting her brand-new, fourth studio album, Only Human. Ms. Coyle recently claimed that she wasn’t involved in the splitting of Girls Aloud. During a recent interview, the “Fight For This Love” star revealed that Nadine was the one who originally wanted the hiatus to pursue a solo career. In her very own words:

“She was the one who wanted to make a solo record which is why we took the hiatus. So she’s not now going to say that we broke up the band. No? That’s it. She wants to come out and say we broke the band up? No! She shouldn’t tell porkie pies. She should remember why we took the hiatus after seven years so she could go and… Okay, so do you want us to tell the truth? She wasn’t going to make another Girls Aloud record until she got a solo deal. I feel she held us to ransom and then made her solo record deal. It’s the truth. She’s saying that we broke the band up, so there you go?”

Back in the day when both Cheryl and Nadine Coyle had solo albums out, there were rumors that the two had some kind of rivalry going on. Even though everything was denied and the Girls Aloud reunion supposedly proved otherwise, it seems the word on the street was not too far-fetched, was it?

There is no denying Nadine Coyle was the most talented one out of Girld Aloud. However, her solo era was not really successful, especially when compared to Cheryl’s massive solo career. If there’s any truth in the story, it’s only further proof that karma is one hell of a bitch.
