Welcome back again, my fellow Gleeks!
Earlier, we teased a bit about what lies ahead for this season’s third episode.
As previously reported, Glee's third episode will be a “beautiful and fitting tribute” to the late Cory Monteith and his character Finn Hudson.
The show is doing so by choosing some truly wonderful songs about love, and friendship.
This next reveal, however, will be a big one as it features a song that was meant to be used in a previous episode of the show but didn’t quite make the cut.
The song is also rumored to be one of the hardest performances that the cast has ever done together and recorded as well. According to our sources, the cast had a particularly difficult time with this number, and it is said to be a tear-jerker.
Warning: There are spoilers past this point. If you do not wish to be spoiled, please stop reading.
”Fire And Rain” by James Taylor will be one of the songs featured in the tribute for Finn.
This song was originally supposed to be used back in 2010 for the second season and was originally sung by Artie Abrams (played by Kevin McHale).
As a treat for you Gleeks, we do have the original demo of Artie’s version for you all below:
According to James Taylor, the song is meant to help people see beyond their own worries, realize the transience of life and the need to get back to old friends for comfort.
As a reminder, all proceeds from the episode’s songs will be donated to a charity set up in memory of Monteith.
And just to reiterate, we at PopWrapped decided to share song spoilers for this tribute episode with you guys because we saw how many of you wanted the opportunity to prepare yourselves emotionally before it aired.
We hope that nobody takes offense to these spoilers as we understand that not all Gleeks want to be spoiled given the circumstances but at the same time we respect those who do.
Our love and condolences go out to everyone, including the Glee cast and crew.
