Calling all Gleeks! More cast news for season five!
Following recent announcements regarding original Glee actors we may not be seeing as often this coming season, the future of McKinley High and the New Directions received a boost today as five cast members have received promotions.
New to McKinley this past season, Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty), as well as previous The Glee Project winners Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Alex Newell (Unique) have all been upped to series regular status for season five of the FOX hit, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.
These stars will join graduating favourites including Kevin McHale (Artie), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) and Chord Overstreet (Sam). All named were present at yesterday’s promotional shoot, amongst former McKinley members.
To make way for these changes, however, earlier this week it was revealed original cast members Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) and Amber Riley (Mercedes) were being demoted from regulars to guest stars, alongside Dianna Agron (Quinn) and Jayma Mays (Emma).
In a show about a school, in which much of the core cast have graduated or are potentially leaving McKinley High in the near future; these changes seems only natural.
But what are your thoughts on the future of Glee? Are you excited to see more of the newbies at McKinley? What do you think will be happening in the NYADA side of the show?
You can see these characters and more when Glee returns to our screens Thursday September 19th!
