Hey Gleeks! Thanks for joining me once again for this week’s Gleecap. Tonight was part one of a two part episode, “The Hurt Locker” and now that the alumni seem to have gone home, we get a better look at what’s happening at McKinley. What happened on this week’s Sue-centric episode? Read on to find out:
Sue and Will
Will and Sue are hanging out in the cafeteria where he thinks they are going to bury the hatchet once and for all. In true Sue Sylvester fashion, however, she has other plans…especially when she sees that he littered by leaving his plastic fork on the table.
Sue and Becky
After parking her LeCar in front of her storage space, Sue tells Becky she is thinking about retiring. However, she won’t retire until she ties up some loose ends. In other words, she won’t retire until she has revenge on Will Schuster and Rachel Berry. Before this happens, however, she will do all within her power to bring Kurt and Blaine together again.
Sue and Kurt
Sue and Kurt meet in her office, and she tells him that she wants to help them get back together. She let’s slip, however, that she has planned the invitational to destroy the Glee Club…once and for all.
Will and Rachel
During their practice for invitationals, Will and Rachel are chatting and she inadvertently asks him to blow the invitational. He seems to agree in order to help the McKinley Glee Club. However, Sue has a fancy drone that has picked up this entire private conversation, and she will later use it for her evil purposes.
Sue and Sam
Sue goes to Sam in the locker room and hypnotizes him to fall in love with and kiss Rachel Berry.
Kurt, Rachel and Blaine
Both Kurt and Rachel, as well as Blaine, are a bit nervous about the upcoming invitationals. They ask Blaine to take it easy on their kids, but this is interrupted by a text from Karofsky. There is an intruder in their apartment. The trio rushes to Casa Karofsky/Anderson and find a bear…a real bear cub, not THAT kind of bear…and Kurt realizes that Sue is behind it.
He confronts her and tells her that he has a date with someone he met online, Walter, and is not interested in getting back with Blaine.
Later, when he meets Walter, he turns out to be a 50-something guy who used his 30-something photo on his profile. Things likely won’t work out with Walter, but they decide to be friends.
Sam and Rachel
Sam and Rachel are at Breadstix and getting along swimmingly. During their conversation, however, Rachel says the word that Sam is hypnotized with and he falls in love with her immediately.
Later, they meet Blaine for a piano lesson. Sue interrupts it, however, and again, triggers Sam’s hypnosis. He runs after Rachel and Sue sings a song.
Rachel and Sam meet again, and practice the piano together…almost. They actually end up doing a very touchy-feely finger exercise and there are certainly some sparks.
When they finally get to the piano, they play and sing, finally kissing at the end. However, when Rachel meets up with him later to ask him out, Sam denies her, telling her he is still in love with Mercedes.
Blaine and Karofsky
They head to dinner, but it turns out, all of Karofsky’s ex-boyfriends are there. Sue, of course, is behind it. She also presents a family tree showing that they are related.
Sue and Principal Gunderson
Principal Gunderson is the sister of Figgins, and also the principal of Carmel High. Sue meets with her and shares the footage of her drone showing that Will is sabotaging invitationals by going easy on the McKinley Glee Club.
Will comes to confront her, but she doesn’t care, of course. She hates him and she will stop at nothing until he is homeless. He shoots back, however, and reveals he knows about her retirement and he will stop at nothing to ensure the Glee Club is permanent at McKinley.
Sam and Sue – Part II
Sue again hypnotizes Sam, this time, to steal all of Will’s utility bills so he pays them late.
Will eventually catches Sam, but Sam tells him that Rachel told him to do it so Will can’t coach Vocal Adrenaline anymore. Will, of course, is furious.
Vocal Adrenaline goes first. Following an awkward pep talk, they take the stage and sing two songs. From the looks of of Rachel, Kurt and Blaine, Vocal Adrenaline will be difficult to beat.
“Bitch” by Meredith Brooks – Sung by Sue
“Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton – Sung by Rachel and Sam
“Rock Lobster” by The B-52s – Sung by Vocal Adrenaline
“Whip It” by Devo – Sung by Vocal Adrenaline
