Over the span of five seasons, Glee has offered us some truly wonderful platonic friendships. With Glee retuning to our TV screens soon, and the 100th
episode approaching, we thought this would be a great time to give you our top five.
5) Jake Puckerman and Ryder Lynn
For once, one of the Glee weekly assignments actually worked- this was probably because Finn assigned it. Finn ultimately created this bromance by giving them a bonus assignment to share their greatest fear. It was from that point onwards they had each other’s backs, and managed to mostly put away their feuding and support one another and the Glee club.

4) Santana and Rachel
This friendship is one of the funniest and unlikeliest relationships on the show. When she turned up at Kurt’s and Rachel’s apartment in New York to live without even asking, it really did test the friendship. But after the Rachel/Brody craziness, Santana supported Rachel and managed to edge Finn back into the picture. Her blunt honesty stops Rachel from getting too full of herself, and somehow, it creates an unstoppable duo.

3) Finn Hudson and Blaine Anderson
After an initial rocky start to the friendship, Finn and Blaine really bonded when they pulled the New Directions together into a sectionals win, over the Trouble Tones and the Unitards. I personally like to think that the main reason for Finn’s initial dislike to Blaine wasn’t due to jealousy of Blaine’s talent, but more to do with protecting his step-brother. But when they bump fists during sectionals in Hold on to Sixteen
, a little bit of me melted.

2) Rachel and Kurt
I love this friendship due to the amount of hate they held for each other for the first season and a half of the show, which created competitive yet respectful foundations for a wonderful friendship. They really became friends at the end of season 2, when they both explored New York independently and realised this is where they were going to be. This relationship has carried on blossoming when they took down NYADA Lima-style, which even included a well-deserved divavention for Rachel.

1) Noah Puckerman and Coach Beiste
This is my number 1 friendship yet it is often overlooked. I mean, how adorable was it when Puck and Beiste sung ‘Mean’ in season three? It was Beiste that set Puck back on the right track when he was fighting with his fake knife, and got him the history retake that he desperately needed to graduate. But Puck, unknowingly, supports Beiste too; she leaves her abusive husband, Cooter Menkins, after their heart to heart. And who didn’t fall apart as Puck sobbed into Beistes shoulder following Finn Hudson’s death.
