Legendary actor Abe Vigoda passed away today, at the age of 94. While his death has been a part of many hoaxes over the years, this bit of news is unfortunately true.

Best known for his role as Detective Phil Fish on the 1980’s sitcom Barney Miller, Vigoda was also the doomed Tessio in The Godfather and The Godfather Part II.

He passed away while in hospice care and is survived by his daughter Carol Vigoda Fuchs. He was married to Beatrice Schy for 24 years, until her death in 1992.
